Jessie, Licensed Massage Therapist
Book with Jessie
Jessie Boudreau is a graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance Studies from Roger Williams University. Jessie’s practice includes Sports Massage Techniques, Myofascial Techniques, Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Therapy, Postural Analysis, and Swedish Massage. Every treatment is unique in that it incorporates a range of treatment modalities that are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient/client.
As a life-long athlete, Jessie knew from a young age that she was intrigued by the human body and how it works, however she did not recognize her more specific interest in and desire to understand the mechanics of human movement until she suffered from injury as a collegiate soccer player and reaped the benefits of proper rehabilitation. Her interest in massage therapy and the rehabilitation process continued to grow after taking a work study position in the training room as a student athletic trainer and working closely with the Certified Athletic Trainers to provide treatment for athletes. Her dance studies introduced her to Rudolf Laban (a dancer, choreographer and movement theoretician) and of the Alexander Technique which brought about a complimentary interest in the qualities of movement, the importance of body awareness, and the efficient use of energy.
After a rewarding twelve years of practicing architecture at a local Boston firm, Jessie redirected her professional focus to pursue licensure and learn as much about massage therapy and its role in the rehabilitation process as possible. Her passion for the work is driven by her belief that understanding the root cause of pain and injury, providing a thorough assessment, and being a part of an integrative treatment plan is the most beneficial approach to the recovery process and maintaining overall wellness. Clinical interests include: Spinal Cord Injuries, Structural Body Work, Orthopedic/Sports Injuries, Stroke rehabilitation, Repetitive Use Injuries, and Chronic Pain Management. Jessie is currently looking to pursue additional certifications in Massage treatments for Spinal Cord Injury, Medical Massage Therapy, Orthopedic Massage Therapy, Neuromuscular Massage, Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT), Amino Neuro Frequency (ANF), Craniosacral Therapy, and Integrative Positional Therapy.
When not (kicking pains ass) you can find Jessie doing freelance design work that helps home owners bring their vision to life, dancing as a member of Ipswich Moving Company, playing soccer, training for the next crazy athletic challenge, spending time with family outdoors in Maine, or making a delicious meal.
