Sal – LMT, NCTMB, OMT
Sal is a Boston native who thrives on learning as much as he can in bodywork. Sal was always interested in health and the body. During his second year of college and still unsure of the healthcare direction he wanted to take, Sal lost his eye sight to a rare mitochondrial disease called Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy and is now considered legally blind. For a while, Sal assumed his health related career was impossible, but was enlightened when he discovered the field of massage therapy and bodywork. Along his journey of training and learning, he has met and studied with mentors and bodyworkers who have strengthened his passion for bodywork.
Sal’s approach to massage work is truly about the body’s health which has satisfied his long time passion to work in healthcare. Sal graduated from The Salter School of Massage Therapy, in Malden, MA in October of 2005. Since then, he has specified his training to more deep myofascial and structural work. Sal is a Nationally Certified Bodyworker as well as a certified Myoskeletal Therapist, graduating from Eric Dalton’s Freedom From Pain Institute in June of 2010 and is currently working on his Advanced Certification in Myoskeletal Alignment. Sal specializes in Myoskeletal Alignment, Myofascial Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Structural Bodywork, Orthopedic Massage and Sports Massage. He enjoys the challenge of a sports related injury correction. Sal has much experience and specializes in neck, back and shoulder pain. While not studying, Sal has volunteered his work at the MS Challenge walk in Cape Cod, MA for many years as well as other various athletic events. He enjoys working with athletes and helping them complete their goals. In his spare time, Sal enjoys staying active with skiing, hiking, snow shoeing and loves the outdoors!
