Melissa Ambrose, LMT, NCTMB, CKTP, OMT

Melissa, a Central MA native, now living in Brighton received her Bachelors Degree from Clark University where she majored in Sociology and minored in Business. A four year soccer player at Clark, Melissa experienced her fair share of injuries. While none were season-ending, they were enough to make her stop and think about the potential consequences she could have faced were they more serious or mistreated. As with most athletes, she had the mentality of doing whatever it took to be out on the field. This led her to expand from her normal training regiment and experiment with the different modalities of massage therapy. Whether it was for injury prevention, actual injury or just overall stress reduction, Melissa began to incorporate massage into her life.

After graduating from Clark, Melissa enrolled at the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester MA. With a profound sense that she had found her calling, she pushed full force ahead, working at a chiropractor’s office for over a year. She gains much gratification seeing her patients returning regularly and demonstrating improvement after experiencing a variety of acute and chronic issues. Melissa also had the opportunity to be the massage therapist for the Boston Breakers (Women’s Professional Soccer Team). Having worked with such high caliber athletes and seeing how they came to depend and rely on getting deep tissue, sports massage really reinforced the success of massage with athletes. Around this time, Melissa also became interested in Kinesio Taping and after first hand experiencing this ‘magic tape’ she immediately knew she had to learn more. She is now certified in Kinesio Taping and is providing clients with a new treatment supplement to help with injury prevention and healing.

Melissa is certified by the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
